FACTS ABOUT HOW GAME WORKS: GAME is a non-profit organization. GAME has legally-registered branches that run programs in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia.

GAME is governed by a Board of Directors and a Board of Representatives.  This election is all about the Board of Representatives and the aim is to populate this important institution with a diversity of youth representing GAME’s activities. It is these two Boards that make important financial and strategic decisions for the organization. Many decisions are made at the Annual General Assembly that takes place in spring every year; other decisions and considerations happen throughout the year.

The staff and volunteers of GAME carry out the strategic directions of these boards throughout the year.

WHAT IS THE BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVES?
• The board of representatives functions as a link between GAME’s members, volunteers, legally-registered GAME partners, and the organization’s overall strategic leadership.

• Members of the Board of Representatives are the only ones with voting rights at the Annual General Assembly.

• The Board of Representatives will be called on to meet at least twice a year: at the General Assembly in the spring, and one other time to discuss ongoing strategy implementation

• The Board of representatives will get to weigh in on and propose strategic directions, new and current

WHAT ARE THE RESPOSIBILITIES OF THE BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVES?
• To  represent  the  interests  of  the  members  from  the  various  communities  and  countries  GAME  is  active  in.

• To  ensure  election  of  a  Board  capable  of  promoting  the  objectives  of  the  organization  in  a  professional  manner.

WHAT DECISION-MAKING POWER DOES THE BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVES HAVE?
The Board of Representatives has voting rights at the Annual General Meeting, including – but not limited to – the election of the Board of Directors and amendments to GAME’s statutes. GAME’s statutes are like its constitution; they are the laws of the organization and they are more powerful than any individual.

WHO IS ON THE BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVES?
The Board of Representatives is composed of 50% + one individuals that are active volunteers in countries where GAME has a legal presence via registration. The other <50% is elected by the Board of Directors.

HOW LONG IS A BOARD OF REPRESENTATIVE MEMBER ELECTED TO THEIR POSITION?
An active volunteer is elected for two* years, and must remain an active volunteer for that period. Half of the Board of Representatives is elected in even years, and half in odd years. (*2021 is the first election, and so half of the Board of Representative members will serve only 1 year. The candidates per country with the top number of votes will serve two years, and the candidates with the lesser number of votes will serve only one year).
