GAME Ghana

In Ghana, GAME is making a social change via youth-led street sports and culture. In close collaboration with our partner DUNK, GAME is empowering youth leaders by offering free training as volunteer coaches and role models in street sports and civil society. The young volunteers then lead practices in street football and street basketball for local children and youth in local GAME Zones in Ghana.

GAME in Ghana is Supported by CISU – Civil Society in Development.

THE GHANA GIRLS’ GOALS PROGRAM

Ghana Goals is a project between two like-minded organizations DUNK-Grassroots of Ghana and GAME. The goal is to empower 550 young people aged between 8 and 25 to become community contributors and leaders in two underserved areas of Accra, Ghana.

The program uses street sports to make lasting social change with a strong focus on creating youth empowerment and equipping them with life skills and toolsets they can use to address challenges in their daily life.

The program focuses on three themes:

  • Gender equality through integrated sports and education activities
  • Enhancing school capacity in physical education.
  • Life skills within WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene)

GAME Finals

GAME Ghana annually celebrates its program with a big sports tournament focusing on street sports and street culture.

This yearly event, called GAME FINALS, gathers people from different areas of the country and the GAME zone.

The event is hosted and organized by the local Playmakers.
