Communications Assistant, Tunisia

We focus on Youth Empowerment and creating lasting Social Change through street sports and culture. GAME has begun its multi-year program in Tunisia. We are now looking for dynamic colleagues:
Form of Employment: 40 – 80 % (2 – 4 days / week)
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Contract type: Consultant contract
Duration: 9 months, with the possibility of extension
Location: Tunis
Responsibilities:
The Communications Assistant will work closely with the Programme Manager and Communications Department to identify appropriate methods to communicate to the relevant audience. The Communications Assistant will contribute to the communications efforts through social media, publications, and media outreach.
- Assist in the promotion of GAME activities through regular updates on social media, the website / Facebook page and other publications;
- Assist in drafting information materials for use in GAME channels and in traditional and online media: press releases, feature stories, news stories, and Programme publications in English and Arabic;
- Assist in developing, and coordinating the preparation of, visual products that highlight our work, especially infographics as well as short videos;
- Assist with media liaison and coordination, and media monitoring;
- Contribute to ensuring visibility and branding for the donor-funded projects implemented by GAME;
- Drafting tasks and briefs for external services providers to produce visibility and communications products (e.g., designers, printing offices, photographers);
- Contributes to the development of communications strategies and plans for GAME, notably social media strategies;
- Ensure quality and content of all public information documents for GAME activities, in coordination with relevant
We expect you to have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree or other relevant education (Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Marketing, or relevant field or related field);
- Work experience in an NGO environment in related area, volunteering with NGOs & sports field in similar post will be an asset;
- Strong skills in digital communications (social media, writing for an online audience, copywriting, mailing…);
- Design experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and other programs;
- Experience preparing social media banners, audio-visual materials and infographics for dissemination on the web;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- High level of accuracy, attention to details and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams …).
- Good communication skill both verbal and written in English and Arabic, French is an advantage.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge in photography and video editing.
ONBOARDING DATE
Starting date will be in late March 2024. The positions are with occasional weekend and evening work (such as overseeing events). The positions are time limited to 9 months with the possibility
of extension based on performance and funding.
WORKPLACE
The office is based in Tunis with regular travel to the project’s locations across Tunisia.
