6/9-2024Nordic Council of Ministers Support GAME’s push for Gender Equity in Street Sports

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of “Inclusive Horizons: Advancing Gender Equity through Youth-Led Street Sports and Civic Action,” a GAME initiative in collaboration with the Sports Confederation of Greenland, Street Culture (Ukraine), and Trenuj Bycie Dobrym (Poland). With crucial funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers’ “Prosperous Future” grant program, this project is set to:

Develop gender-informed coaching strategies to make street sports more inclusive and accessible.

Empower young women and non-binary individuals by providing them with leadership opportunities and a platform to shine.

Conduct cross-cultural research to identify and implement the best practices for gender equity in sports.

Create innovative coaching curricula and deliver hands-on training to the next generation of youth leaders.

Advancing Gender Equity in Street Sports Across Greenland, Ukraine, and Denmark
The project will culminate in a dynamic convening, where a diverse group of youth leaders from Greenland, Ukraine, and Denmark will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to implement inclusive street sports and street culture activities in their communities.

The ultimate goal is to see these methodologies widely adopted across youth-led street sports programs, creating a lasting and transformative impact on sports culture throughout the region.

GAME’s Commitment to Gender Equity
Equality is at the core of everything we do at GAME. We are committed to creating inclusive opportunities that resonate with the needs of all individuals, particularly women and girls in sports and civil society.

Drawing from our extensive experience and insights gained globally, we’re focused on strengthening our approach with a sharper emphasis on gender equity. By embedding gender-inclusive practices and coaching strategies, GAME is working towards an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and reach their full potential.

Through the “Inclusive Horizons” project, GAME and its partners are not just advancing gender equity in street sports—they are driving a broader cultural shift towards inclusivity and empowerment in the region.
