Playmaker Program

GAME’s Playmakers are young volunteers who are making a difference for children and young people in underserved neighborhoods or in GAME’s indoor facilities. They do this by arranging weekly practices in street basketball, street football, street dance, and parkour for local children and youth.

With a music, balls and cones, GAME’s Playmakers arrange practices in GAME Zones in Denmark, Greece, Ghana, Jordan, Lithuania, Lebanon, Malta, Somaliland – and soon in Tunisia.

The Playmaker Program is the centerpiece of GAME’s work with social change through youth-led street sports and culture.

For the Playmakers, the training consists of two annual weekend camps. At each camp, Playmakers meet with other young people from all over the country. They receive training as instructors in street basketball, street football, street fit, street dance and youth leadership. Conflict management, teamwork and empowerment are also parts of the program.

The Playmaker Program is for young people who are between 15 and 24 years old, and it is free. The young volunteers receive a Playmaker certificate when they have completed the camps and have been active in their local GAME Zones for at least one year.

GAME is always on the look out for passionate people, who want to become a Playmaker.
